PLR systems have been established in many countries around the world.
The former Head of PLR in the UK, Dr Jim Parker, is the Coordinator for the PLR International Network which brings together those countries with established PLR systems and provides assistance and advice to countries interested in setting up PLR schemes. There is a PLR International website, maintained by the UK PLR office, which aims to promote international awareness of PLR and inform the PLR community of events, developments and news from around the world.
British authors can benefit from PLR payments in those countries which have a reciprocal agreement with the UK. These include: Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Spain.
Payments to UK authors from overseas PLR schemes (apart from Ireland) are made through the Authors' Licensing & Collecting Society.
Irish PLR is administered on behalf of the Irish government by the UK PLR office.
