PLR aims to meet most requests for information free of charge.

Any charges for information made available are set out in the Publication Scheme, eg priced publications such as the Annual Report.

If you request information not available under the Scheme, our aim is to provide it to you free of charge. PLR's policy is not to charge for providing information where it costs less than £450 to do so. Where the cost of providing information would exceed £450 PLR will generally not provide the information. However, where possible we will work with requestors to modify their requests.

Charges may be made for the actual costs of photocopying large amounts of printed material, for postage of large amounts of material, for computer processing time, and for supplying any disks (, or) tapes (or videos).

We will keep applicants informed at all stages both of the likely charges to be made, by providing an estimated charge, which is normally payable before further work is undertaken; also of any rights of appeal.

The form in which information is given will normally be the most cost effective from PLR's point of view. Those enquirers wishing to have information in a particular form should enquire about such availability when making their application.
